Vincent Deon - Northampton Twp. Tax Collector

Offering the experience and qualifications Northampton Township needs

Posted

As the incumbent candidate, I am running for re-election on November 4.  Allow me to provide information about my background, so that voters will be well informed about my qualifications to continue in this role.

I joined the Tax Collector’s Office in December of 2017 to assist the prior Tax Collector, Bob Borkowski, when he became ill. I was promoted to Deputy Tax Collector in April 2018.

As Deputy Tax Collector, I orchestrated moving the office to its current location and modernized it to ensure the financial oversight of taxpayer monies.  My primary duties as Tax Collector include: timely and accurately transmitting taxpayer monies ($127 million annually) to the County of Bucks, Northampton Township and the Council Rock School District; resolving taxpayer issues; answering tax payer questions, and supervising a very dedicated staff.  For taxpayers that require assistance but cannot physically make it into the office, I offer home visits.

I have a Marketing degree from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.  I am a Veteran of the United States Air Force and a graduate of the USAF Non-Commissioned Officer Academy, honorably discharged as a Sergeant.  I continue to be involved in Veteran’s Affairs through the American Legion American Edgar H. Denson Post 79, New Hope.  I welcome residents to bring American flags to my office for appropriate disposal.

In the past, I have served two terms as Chairman of the Northampton Township Board of Supervisors as well as President for the Aldie Foundation Drug Rehabilitation Services of Bucks County. Currently, I am a member of the Northampton Bucks County Municipal Authority Board and Bucks County Association of Township Officials.

It would be my honor to continue to serve as your Tax Collector. Feel free to contact me at VincentDeon@TwpTax.com or call 215-603-5955.
