Real Estate Tax rates are established each year by three separate taxing authorities: Northampton Township, Bucks County and the Council Rock School District.
The Township and County real-estate taxes are sent to homes on March 1 while the Council Rock School District real-estate taxes are mailed to homes in early July.
In both instances, there is a DISCOUNT amount payable for up to 60 days after the mailing, a FACE amount for another two months and a LATE period until late December. A general rule is to pay your real estate taxes in April for County/Township and August for CRSD to get the discount. If you escrow taxes with your mortgage company they pay automatically.
Northampton Township receives the following services for tax dollars: police protection, road maintenance (including snow and ice removal), police enforcement of Township codes and regulations, as well as fire protection.
We receive the following for Bucks County taxes: programs which support the most vulnerable residents - services for children and youth, older adults, and individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental and behavioral health, drug and alcohol programs, and crisis services. County services also include housing assistance and community development. In addition, justice system services including judicial administration and corrections and support for the Sheriff's Office serving civil process and warrants, emergency health services, District Attorney and Public Defender, and 911 call center.
For our Council Rock School District tax dollars we receive the tremendous value of keeping our community a treasured place to raise families. The CRSD community is continually awarded accolades including 14th consecutive Best Communities for Music Education Award from the NAMM Foundation (2025).
