Summer makes a splash with Northampton Parks and Recreation!

Posted

Summer in Northampton Township means sunshine, laughter, and a full calendar of opportunities to get outside, try something new, and connect with the community. Each year, Northampton Township Parks and Recreation (NTPR) looks forward to welcoming residents to a season filled with camps, special events, and long days spent poolside. The summer of 2026 will be better than ever!

From the first day of camp to the final swim meet of the season, NTPR’s summer programming is designed to create meaningful experiences for residents of all ages. Whether your child is heading off to camp for the first time, your family is enjoying a concert in the park, or you are cheering from the pool deck at a swim meet, summer truly comes alive through our programs.

The Northampton Valley Swim Club is a long-standing and much-loved facility in the community, and the team at NTPR continue to bring fresh and exciting programming that keeps summers feeling new. The swim club offers swim lessons for all ages, taught in both group and private settings by top-notch, certified lifeguards who focus on safety, confidence, skill development and having FUN in the water.

Residents looking to stay active while being easy on their joints can take advantage of Aquasize exercise classes, which provide a fun and effective full-body workout in the water. When it is time to refuel, members enjoy an onsite snack bar with access to the full menu from our neighbors at Tavern on Ten, making lunch or an afternoon treat part of the experience.

Beyond the pool, members can take a break from swimming and enjoy beach volleyball, basketball, and GaGa courts. Special themed events and dress-up days are offered throughout the season, creating a lively, welcoming atmosphere that members look forward to all summer long.

The swim club is also home to the Northampton Township Otters Swim Team, a proud and energetic program that competes as part of the Lower Bucks Swim League. Throughout the summer, the pool deck comes alive with team spirit as swimmers race, teammates cheer, and families gather to support their athletes. The Otters program emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, and teamwork while creating an environment where swimmers build confidence and friendships that last well beyond the season. For many families, swim meets become a highlight of their summer routine.

Summer fun at the Northampton Valley Swim Club extends well beyond open swim and team competition. Located on the scenic grounds of the Northampton Valley Country Club, the swim club operates Monday through Friday from June 1 through August 28 and serves as the pool location for Northampton Township summer camps. Campers enjoy regular trips to the pool as part of their camp day, giving them a chance to cool off, stay active, and enjoy one of the community’s favorite summer destinations. Campers also receive discounted rates on group swim lessons, making it easier to build swimming skills throughout the season.

The Swim Club offers early registration discounts through April 15, exclusive membership rates for township residents, and additional discounts for NTPR campers and senior center members. The facility is also available for party rentals and will host planned seasonal events including a Summer Kick-Off, Senior Swim Night, and a Summer Send-Off.

For families who need flexibility in the summer, NTPR also offers a variety of week-long summer camp options. These camps allow participants to enjoy the camp experience without committing to the entire summer. Campers can explore everything from basketball and soccer to science programs and musical theater, all designed to keep days active, engaging, and fun. Visit northamptonrec.com for full camp details, schedules, and registration information.  Space in the full summer camps is limited, but still available!

Summer with Northampton Township is about more than just quality programs. It’s about coming together as a community. Weekly summer concerts held every Thursday evening provide residents with a chance to relax, connect with neighbors, and enjoy live entertainment in a welcoming outdoor setting. Whether you are splashing at the pool, joining one of our camps, or singing along at a concert, Northampton Township Parks and Recreation truly has something for everyone this summer.
