Bucks County youth create collaborative ‘Hope in Bloom’ painting to aid local breast cancer patients

"Painting Hope" exhibit runs through June 30

What happens when 30 artists all try to work on the same painting? As Vincent VanGogh once said "Great things are done by a series of small things brought together." Empowered with their paint brushes, 30 Bucks County youth are painting hope.  The aspiring young artists have all worked together to create one collaborative painting titled “Hope in Bloom” to be put on silent auction to raise funds for WelcomeToMainSt.org.

Main St. (formerly Pine2Pink), is a Doylestown based non-profit dedicated to supporting local breast cancer patients through treatment and recovery. Funds raised in Bucks County stay within the community to help breast cancer patients through programs such as transportation, meals, wigs, and counseling.

Each of the aspiring young artists participating were also encouraged to “think pink” and create their own individual paintings featuring accents of pink to display at their art show “Painting Hope” which runs May 31 – June 30 at Countryside Gallery, 2 South State Street in historic Newtown.

Bids on the original “Hope in Bloom” painting can be made in person or online at youthartsilentauctionbids@aol.com, subject line “Hope in Bloom for Main Street”. Bids will be accepted through June 30, and the highest bidder will be notified the first week of July. Poster prints of “Hope in Bloom” are available for $10 each, and notecards featuring each of the student’s individual paintings will be on sale at the art show, with 100% of the sales and silent auction proceeds to be donated to WelcomeToMainSt.org. Admission to Painting Hope is free and smiles are guaranteed.

Gallery hours are Sundays and Mondays from noon - 4  pm; Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11 am – 6 pm; Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 11 am-7 pm. For more information, call 215-968-2246.
